Tech Talk: Focusing on De-Molding Temperatures
Get excited, Amco Polymers partners with Plastics News! Join Sean Mertes on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 2:00 pm EDT, to show how you can be confident that you’re running the fastest cycle time possible.
Join Amco Polymers’ Principal Engineers in a discussion on understanding de-molding temperatures and how a DMA curve, combined with an IR Camera can optimize your cooling time.
Sean is a plastics veteran with a Master of Science degree from South Dakota State University. From his certificate in the Plastics Technology and Engineering Program at the American Injection Molding Institute and 31 years of industry experience, Sean is presently the Principal Application Development Engineer for Amco Polymers and currently on the AIM advisory board and program chair for local SPE, Society of Plastics Engineers. Previous roles include 6 years as a Plastics Engineer for a Custom Injection Molder, 14 years as a Senior Technical Service Representative, 5 years in sales, and 6 years as Application Development Engineering specializing in Part Design, Mold Design, Material Selection, and Troubleshooting. He currently resides just out of the twin cities in Jordan, Minnesota.
What you will learn: This seminar will help you go beyond single-point data measurement and show you how you can be confident that you’re running the fastest cycle time possible.
This presentation webinar will cover:
- Ways to calculate cooling time needed, how do you do it?
- DMA curves and how they assist in de-molding temperature
- Filled vs Unfilled effects
- Autodesk Moldflow using DSC techniques
- Effects on Dimensions
